Troublemaker
So, I'm trying out a new mascara, and I immediately start feeling the need to share my impression of it... Because if you try a product and don't share it with the world, did you really try it?
However, an Instagram or Facebook post just didn't feel like the right medium... So, I guess I'm a beauty blogger now - because I need something else to occupy my time on top of a full time job, full time school, and an almost crippling World of Warcraft addiction :D
But, I love beauty products, and I love talking about beauty products, so, here we are.
Ok, the new mascara - Urban Decay Troublemaker. First thought: not as good a name as their Perversion mascara (which is my favorite and the mascara that I compare all other mascaras to), but Troublemaker claims to be "sex-proof" so, they have my attention... because let's be honest, if it truly is sex-proof, chances are it's going to hold up through pretty much anything.
Day 1:
I tried this first yesterday morning without primer, and I have to say, I was not immediately impressed (I've used Perversion both with and without primer and it always does an amazing job in either case). It did add length to my lashes, but didn't really do anything to plump them, and honestly, I'm not a huge fan of the applicator (but I'm also biased against rubber mascara applicators, so I'm trying to not hold that against it).
Day 2:
I gave Troublemaker another shot this morning, pairing it with Urban Decay's Subversion lash primer with much better results. Still not a huge fan of the rubber applicator (I just never get the same results as I do with a brush), but the formula definitely held up to both the lengthening and volumizing promises when paired with the primer, and even after a day spent mostly in the sun, there was no flaking or smudging.
Overall, it's definitely not going to replace my Perversion for daily use, but for those days when I need a stronger product (because as much as I hate to admit it, Perversion will occasionally flake on particularly warm or active days), I'll probably keep it on hand.
